   Interact is a service and social club for young people ages 14-18. Each club is sponsored by a Rotary club, which guides the Interactors in developing local and international service projects. Interact derives its name from the words “international” and “action,” reflecting the nature of an organization that exists in 110 countries and promotes active service at home and abroad. With almost 200,000 members and more than 8,600 clubs worldwide, Interact provides a powerful force of youthful enthusiasm and energetic service. _(Rotary.org)
   The Interact Club at Lincoln-Way East High School is a community service organization that meets every other Wednesday. The LWE Interact Club is in partnership with the Tinley Park-Frankfort Rotary Club. Other Rotary sponsored clubs are the Earlyact (kindergarden-14), Interact (ages 14-18), and Rotaract (ages 18-30) clubs. Students who are involved with the LWE Interact club spend their time in meaningful ways, improving themselves, their school, community, county, state, and the world.
   Interact clubs are dedicated to helping their community and sharing ideas among clubs. All clubs are community based and take field trips to various places with the goal to improve their surroundings. Some trips would include: cleaning a park, spending time with residents at a nursing home, making dinner at a soup kitchen, cleaning at a Ronald McDonald House, or organizing a Salvation Army toy drive. Many clubs also run drives for or make donations to various organizations. Some examples would include: a pop tab drive for a Ronald McDonald House Charity, donation to a children's hospital, book drive for underprivileged schools, non-perishable food drive for food pantry or soup kitchen, donation to aid medical expenses to poor countries, or donation to help poor countries get clean water.
